Separation Requests
Welcome to ScreenPrintingArist’s Separation Request Page! The following are the simple guidelines to utilize our separation service. To get the most out of our process, make sure you read through our Terms & Conditions below the submission request guidelines.
Color Separation Guidelines
Step #1. Submit Your Order Details and your Art (Small Jpeg Preview)
Fill out the company information in the separation guidelines submission form below. This may seem like a lot, but having this information will allow us to properly evaluate your art for screen printing separations. You can submit your artwork without providing all of this detail, but you risk having delays or other issues. If you have multiple presses and dryers, use the equipment that you intend to use for the job being submitted.
You can copy/paste the following list directly into the body of an email and quickly submit it to us (replace the __________ parts with your information):
- Company information (the company and print equipment for the seps requested)

- Please review the below “Terms and Conditions” prior to emailing. Submitting an email indicates that you agree.
Attach a small JPEG (less than 4-5mg) of the artwork(s) that you need separated to the email. If you have multiple separation requests, we respectfully ask that you send each one as a separate email so that it is clear what printing details apply to what artwork.
- Send the email with the above details (filled out with your info) and don’t forget to attach the artwork!
Step #2. Quote & Approval
- I’ll review the art and details submitted to approve the project.
- Once approved, I’ll provide a written quote with pricing and estimated turnaround.
- If for some reason the project is not approved we will notify you quickly and/or provide details for resubmission.
Step #3. Payment & File Upload
- Full payment is required before work begins.
- After payment, you’ll upload the full-resolution artwork (AI, PSD, TIFF, etc.).
Step #4. Delivery of Separations
- Most separations will be completed within 72hours of approval (unless a rush is needed).
- Finished separations are delivered via secure online download link.
- Files remain available for 60 days, after which they are deleted.
If you have larger or ongoing separation requests, send us a meeting request for a discussion prior to submission.

Color Separation Terms and Conditions
Turnaround Time
- Standard turnaround is typically within 72 business hours from receipt of payment and final artwork.
- Rush jobs (24 hours or less) may be available for an additional fee (subject to availability).
- Large, complex, or highly detailed jobs may require more time—this will be communicated up front.
Vacation/Unavailable Notice: I will let you know immediately if availability is affected. Orders placed during vacations or holidays will be scheduled for the next available business day.
Revisions Policy
- I stand behind my work and want you to have usable separations.
- Included: Up to two minor revisions (if the issue is directly related to my separation work).
- Not Included: Revisions due to client changes (new art, last-minute edits, spelling mistakes, different ink sets, etc.) or poor print setup/press issues. These are billable as new work.
- Additional revisions beyond two are subject to additional charges.
Refunds & Cancellations
- No refunds once separation work has been delivered.
- If I make a clear error, I will correct it at no cost.
- I reserve the right to refuse or cancel a job at any time, including for offensive content, technical limitations, or incompatibility with your equipment. If I cancel before delivery, I will issue a refund.
- I am not responsible for production results (dot gain, poor press setup, ink choice, etc.) once files leave my hands.
Artwork Responsibility
- By submitting artwork, you confirm you own the rights or have permission to use it.
- You are fully responsible for any copyright, trademark, or usage claims related to your art.
- Artwork Quality: Submit clean, high-res files. Poor quality may lead to rejection or extra fees for fixes.
- Usage: These separations are for your screen printing use only. Don’t resell or share them without our permission.
- I do not share your artwork or customer details with anyone.
- Files are stored securely and deleted after 60 days.
Payment & Taxes
- Payment is required in full before work begins.
- I currently accept PayPal and Stripe (credit/debit cards).
- As this is a digital service delivered online, no physical goods are shipped.
- Taxes: As a Illinois-based business providing digital services, we don’t charge sales tax on color separations (since they’re considered intangible digital deliverables under IL law). However, if you’re in IL or another state with different rules, you may have your own tax obligations—consult a tax pro for your side.
- No Hidden Fees: Quotes include everything upfront. Payments are non-refundable except as noted in Refunds & Cancelations.
General Terms
- I may refuse work at my discretion.
- Results may vary depending on your printing setup (mesh count, press registration, ink opacity, etc.).
- You must accept all responsibility for meeting order deadlines, delivery of orders and final printed quality of your products.
